Keep on reading, and watch our video below to find out the 5 reasons not to boost your Facebook posts, and save yourself some cash!
5 Reasons Not To Boost Your Facebook Posts
As shown in the video, here’s the why boosted posts are a waste of money.
(1) The audience is undefined
An undefined audience, is an audience that is too broad in nature, which is exactly what Facebooks default targeting is. Too broad of an audience, with too far of a radius in targeting will result in low quality leads or no leads at all.
In reality, targeting needs to be specific to your customers likes and dislikes, also factor in age and location targeting to make your leads as close to your ideal customer as possible.
(2) There is no goal or objection
What is the goal of the ad? Is too makes sales? Generate leads? Get more awareness? The issue with boosting posts is that often they lack any real goal or desired outcome.
In order for ads to be successful they need a set call to action that you want the lead to take in order to get the best results possible..
(3) Budget & end date
What is your budget, and how long do you want to run the campaign for? By default a boosted post runs on a lifetime budget, which means you select an end date for your campaign, whether that be a few days, weeks or months!
The issue here, is that Facebook actually learns overtime who your ideal customer is, and optimises for that. So if your campaign is set to only run for a week, theres a good chance that by ending the campaign at that point you are missing out on leads or sales.
(4) Basic creative options
One of the biggest downsides to boosted posts, is the lack of creative options. A boosted post only allows you to boost a post itself, no variations in text or images can be made which makes testing ad variations near impossible.
(5) Hard to measure results
Results are the end all to be all in advertising, as they are what pays the bills. So measuring results such as leads, bookings or sales is crucial. Unfortunately, measuring results on a boosted post is very very limited, making it had to measure and scale any advertisements.
